As the Levites stand to minister on this morning (psalmists, dancers, musicians, and intercessors), I pray that the anointing and power of God move through you! As you minister, stand boldly in the power of God! Allow His Holy Spirit sing, dance, play, and pray through you that atmospheres will be changed and God’s people be moved to another level of praise and worship!
God deserves our absolute best in ministry. We must be sure that we are not just practicing our skill and sharpening our crafts. We must also CONSTANTLY stay before God in prayer, praise & worship, and the Word of God so that our ministry will be effective. It is not enough to just be a good dancer. Our dance has purpose: to preach the gospel of Jesus, usher in the anointing of God to destroy yokes, and to worship God in spirit and in truth.
Skillful & Trained for Ministry…Part 2
This video is a piece of a discussion forum at the Gospel Heritage Conference about having skill and training in ministry
Dancers speak with their hearts through expressive movement 🙂
Christian (Liturgical) dance is birthed out of the heart of God to express praise and worship to Him, to minister through movement to His people, and to physically speak what God is saying through the movement of the body. It is a visual expression of a relationship with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and uses skill and emotion to communicate an experience with GOD. The primary purpose of Christian dance is to attract glory to God and not the dancer! Dance, from the beginning was intended to be a visual representation of praise, worship, celebration, adoration to the King of Kings. It is a spontaneous result of a heart that is full of joy, passion, love, desire, and even pain.
Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.~Psalm 149:3
